A story or picture that appears on the first page, especially of a newspaper or other publication. The front-page of a newspaper often teases readers by listing some of the more interesting stories inside. It can also feature the biggest news stories from a country, or even the world. For example, if something huge happens in the United States, that might be a story worthy of the front-page of a US newspaper.
The Times’s Baldwin went on to deliver a string of major front-page scoops, including 40 Watergate articles that helped trigger the Church Committee investigations; and one that exposed hush-money payments to burglars that ultimately led to their arrest.
