In international relations, you’ll study the dynamics of global politics and public policy, often with a focus on history and economics. You’ll also explore the role of international organisations in areas like science and technology, development, health, business and environment. Many universities with a strong international relations program offer multidisciplinary undergraduate degrees as well as specialised master’s degrees in fields like international relations, political science and economics.

This is opposed by the view that conflicts are primarily driven by fundamental differences between countries, such as their level of wealth and power.
The practice and profession of managing international relations, usually by sending ambassadors abroad. This is a broad area, but can include the negotiation of peace treaties or sporting diplomacy. It can also refer to the broader activity of the state, including a country’s foreign aid program and its defence policies. It can even include the activity of multinational companies operating in different countries.
